Grand Pacific believes that research and development are the driving forces for business growth. Established in 1984, our Research and Development Department has been dedicating to process research and product development, which activities also include cooperation with famous local research institutes and universities such as Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), National Cheng Kung University, National Sun Yat-Sen University and National Chung Cheng University, to aim at technical expertise improvement while anticipating the needs and challenges in the future through access to basic research.

IThese efforts have led to superior characteristics for our various ABS and HIPS products that contribute to customers' satisfaction. To meet different requirement from different market segments, our flame-retardant grades have gained overwhelming recognition from major 3C producers. Meanwhile customers' value is promoted through our high flow and extrusion grades. Special SAN grade are also developed to fulfill niche demand from Chinese customers.

Partly funded by the government, GPPC participated in ITRI program developing syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS), a high temperature, low Dk and Df engineering plastic polymerized on a novel metallocene catalyst. A pilot plant has been set up and several compounding grades are being studied to survey its potential application.
